We want to extend a heartfelt congratulations to CTGL Associate Project Director, Pamela Wesely, who recently received the Anthony Papalia Award for Excellence in Teacher Education as part of the ACTFL 2024 Annual Convention & World Languages Expo. This award recognizes a world language educator who has demonstrated excellence in the preparation and continuing education of teachers for the profession and is supported by New York State Association for Language Teachers, Inc. and ACTFL, the national organization for world language teachers.

In addition to her role with the CTGL, Dr. Wesely is the University of Iowa College of Education associate dean for faculty and graduate education, as well as a multilingual education professor. We’re thrilled to celebrate her recognition and are grateful for the continued excellence she brings to the CTGL specifically and the university broadly!
